New collection ... A video in the make

Well, I should have written this article last week but... I really didn't have time... OK let's not make up excuses.

SO last weekend, I went with my mini dream team (a photographer,  a film director,  2 beautiful models, a wonderful make-up artist, my assistant and I of course ;)) to a magical and SPLEN-DID castle, 3 hours away from Paris... for the long-awaited filming of the video of the new Malam designs. No less!

AND as at Malam we love (hand) making things, but most of all we love them well-done... the video is still in work-in-process. "Owww but we're dyyying from waiting!!!" you'd say (or not) but DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY. Here is a little thing for you ;)

Fashion find: the Victoria winged Jacket

Already September! Autumn is coming really soon. So bye bye summer clothes (*sigh*) and let's say 'welcome back' to your favorite jackets. 

Problem #1: you don't have any favorite jacket in your wardrobe (which is in a total mess after coming back from your holidays...)

Problem #2: you absolutely CAN'T wear something that you already wore last year, the year before, and the year before... !!

mhmmm *mumble* what to do??!!

SO, you definitely have to go shopping to start afresh with this "new year" of HARD work coming (and let your girl friends &; co-workers be jealous, it's worth it, hehe...)

New season and a new dress for the website

                                                                              

It was about time to make some changes at Malam...

We were thinking about it, and FINALLY did it! If you now go to Malam.fr you'll be happy to discover a whole NEW world. A world a bit more adapted to the boutique's appearance. 

I swear, it's true!!

FIRST: we changed the homepage. Cute isn't it?

SECOND: we changed the banner, to make it look a bit more like the boutique's...

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST: we changed every remaining things - both appearances & contents! 

The buttons, the wedding page, the gallery page, Malam ('about us')'s page, and we added a News page, in order for you to see, more easily, what's new (videos...) at Malam!! 

A unique webpage for unique creations: hooded coats, custom made wedding dresses, patchwork cowls, original accessories, designer tops, vintage, jersey, lace, silk, ... in short, everything HANDMADE ;)

Patchwork bags in all colors !

It is so classy to have such an amazing, one of a kind, bag...
Sometimes, it's indeed so frustrating to meet with people with the exact same shoulder bag as you have!
Well, of course you can own a it bag but you can only accept to have the same shape and model but absolutely NOT the same fabric and colors! We understand that a bag can be a big hit but having the same one as your friends is unacceptable!

At Malam's, the bag is a Bubble bag but made in Malam, each piece is unique and totally handmade.
This bag is classy, in whatever color or print, slung over the body or simply carried on your shoulder. Irresistible!


For more classical tastes, you will choose light colors or more neutral ones, such as beige or black. But there has to be a perfect one for each of you, so here's more of them !

Personally, I slung it over my shoulder and go on a spree. So chic!

Enchanted clothing - Snow White

'Someday my prince will come...'

We all know so well that this blah blah is only some fairy tale sweet-talk that does not exist in real life. But at the same time we would love to be a princess. And this year, to be a movie princess, you only have to be Snow White!

Whether in a movie or elsewhere, Snow White is far from being a has-been princess, who only knows how to eat a rotten apple and lie in bed waiting for Prince Charming... An enchanting world, indeed, but Snow White in 2012 is a total warrior. Or more like a lovely young lady wearing haute couture dresses. In Rupert Sanders' movie, she is wearing leggings and a dark armor... dark and effective just like the character.

Her mean witchy stepmother wears a really gorgeous cape, maleficient and splendid as the same time (a nice little princess should be able to wear it for a cocktail or other reception)!
As for the mean stepmummy's wardrobe, whether in this movie or in another one, it is glamorous, well-stocked and really sumptuous: I was like 'OMG, so jealous!!'
Fashion and nice costumes are not strictly reserved to nice young ladies, yeaaay! Concluding from this, however, that you have to become mean to be able to wear Queen gowns...!

The queen of movie costumes, Colleen Atwood, has made a really exceptional and fairy-like work: indeed her costumes's purpose is to dress up the characters of the movie, but that's not the only thing as you get to understand the story only by looking at her clothes. The cuts, the fabrics and colors play a big part in the movie. And it is no surprise if the lady has already won multiple Oscars: in 'Chicago' (Rob Marsahall, 2003), 'Memoirs of a geisha' (2005), and for Tim Burton's re-adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book, Alice in Wonderland (2010).

Let's dream... we are really looking forward to Hollywood's call for Malam princess dresses ;-)
